Mary Shelley s Heart At A Very Young Age - 1318 Words
Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin as she was born, was born August 30th, 1797 in London, England. Mary Shelleyââ¬â¢s mother died exactly ten days after her birth so Shelley had a rather burdensome life. Her father was emotionally distant from her while her step-mother treated her cruelly as a result of what little relationship Mary did maintain with her father. Mary spoke three languages, English her primary language, French her second language of choice and Italian being the third. Although the disconnected relationships she had, Mary had always been intellectually intelligent, especially when it came to writing. Her fatherââ¬â¢s close friend who would often visit the Godwinââ¬â¢s home in London, Percy Bysshe Shelley, took Maryââ¬â¢s heart at a very young age.â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This quest is where man questions his obsession for perfection through the character created in the creature Frankenstein thus ultimately seeing the up evil of manââ¬â¢s humanity in his st ruggles. If there was one thing Mary adopted most, it was her fathersââ¬â¢ philosophy where she concluded that manââ¬â¢s obsession with perfection would be his ruination. In Mary Shelleyââ¬â¢s Frankenstein Victor Frankenstein is depicted as the a typical mad scientist when Shelley focuses on the issues of fatherly neglect that she was subjected to in her own life after her mother passed and her father remarried. Victor is obsessed with the idea of discovering the secret of life and starts experimenting and creating a creature out of old body parts. Once he brings his creation to life, he is disgusted with his monstrous creation and abandons the creature. The Creature by definition is considered a monster. He is rejected by the society and even by his own creator, his ââ¬Å"father.â⬠The Creature in rebellious attempts begins killing Victors loved ones as revenge. The modern day story of Frankenstein in many ways could be the story of The Hulk. The Hulk mirrors the same types of depictions as of in Frankenstein.
